The boy admitted raping a girl at the age of 12 and tried again at the age of 14
The mind of a 12-year-old boy who raped a girl of the same age in her own bed was "totally distorted" by porn, a court heard.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had a "totally unrealistic view of sexual behaviour".
He tried again to attack the same girl two years later, when they were both 14, the court was told.
The now 15-year-old youth, from Lincolnshire, admitted rape and attempted rape at Grimsby Crown Court.
Craig Lowe, prosecuting, said the matters only came to light in March last year when the girl, now 15, made allegations, which were investigated.
During one incident, the boy went in to the girl's bedroom and took off her clothes, leaving her frightened and crying.
She later said: "I was scared. I told him to get off me."
He pushed her on to her back and held her by her shoulders before having sex with her.
During the second incident, the girl was asleep in bed but woke to find she no longer had any clothes on.
He grabbed her arms and tried to have sex with her. She later said: "When I woke, he had me by my hands and held me down."
Chris Dickins, mitigating, said the boy's "mind had been totally distorted by pornography" - some of it seemingly "extreme".
His access to pornography had given him a "totally unrealistic view of sexual behaviour" at a time when his "sexuality was developing".
The boy was "addicted to pornography", added Mr Dickins.
Judge David Tremberg told the teenager: "You developed an obsession with pornography, which you felt allowed you somehow to make up for your feelings of low self-esteem and gain a bit of control over your life.
"Your concept of sexual relations was distorted by your use of pornography and it gave you an unrealistic view of sexual behaviour.
"You failed to recognise or heed appropriate sexual boundaries between yourself and the girl.
"There has been no offending since. You have apologised to your victim."
The boy was given a three-year youth rehabilitation order, with three years' supervision, He must register as a sex offender for two-and-a-half years.
