Jennifer Hudson opts for a buzz cut as she says goodbye to her hair

The 33-year-old singer seemingly had no regrets about shaving her head as she shared snaps with her fans

Jennifer Hudson has overhauled her image - and said goodbye to her hair in the process.

The singer, who shot to stardom on American Idol in 2004, revealed a brand new buzz cut on Instagram on Friday.

It's a dramatically different 'do for the songstress who has slowing been trimming her locks over the years.

But the 33-year-old appeared content with her decision as she shared pictures with her 932,000 followers.

Each of the snaps featured Jennifer before she hit the stage for a performance in Munich, Germany.

One on Jen sits patiently in a chair while wearing a long-sleeved black dress.

The mum-of-one's hair is noticeably shorter than ever before after giving it the clippers treatment.

She captioned it: "All black every thang! Who needs hair, when u serving face !."

Luckily the Oscar winner is capable of pulling off a number of styles - as she's proved time and time again in the past.

Last month Jen, who is engaged to wrestler David Otunga, revealed her pre-stage routine.

It consisted of the actress sitting very still while getting herself in the zone.

Afterwards Jennifer hopped to her feet as she prepared to wow an audience with her routine.
